It’s Xmas eve, yo!!! Time for the Xmas dinner and pressies!!
Looking forward for tonight, dinner with family… I hope that everyone is having their own happy way of celebrating Xmas. Be it on 24th evening; or 25th evening, I think this is one of the many families holidays in the year.

This year, there is no Xmas tree in our houses (either in Nancy or Brussels). Better one next year I hope

SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDIL FITRI!!!

This year we didn’t make a personalized raya card Lack of time, lack of nice photos and lack of motivation.
Time flies, and suddenly it’s already hari raya. However, I managed to cook a little bit for myself. Lucky I found some leftover ketupat mini Adabi and rempah rendang Ayam brand. Otherwise, hmm don’t feel like cooking.

But then had a great time spending a Saturday with the malaysian students. This is something that I never regret. They are bunch of funny and happy people. I’m grateful to be accepted amongst them. Otherwise, tomorrow, Sylvain and I will be going to the Malaysian Embassy Hari Raya Open House in Paris. Hope that there are great food. Mmmm… My parents in law will be joining us too! This is the first time for us. I didn’t know the people there that well. I still have my baju kurung from last Raya in Malaysia, that was in 2001. That time hari raya was in December! I remember that I have a nice green baju kebaya. I like to wear it. I think it is at my parents house at Kota Tinggi.

Anyways, hope that it’s not too chilly. More report after tomorrow

I have been meaning to write about supersticious for some time because this topic is in my mind in and out and in again.
I hate being supersticious..I don’t like to lead my life with some untrue beliefs. But despite of all my efforts, I’m still supersticious. I believe that something that I do, or said could lead to something else. Some things or some actions could lead to certain luck or events.
Take a simple supersticious - it is bad luck to open an umbrella indoor. I am well aware that it is not true, it is because it’s dangerous that opening umbrella indoors may injure someone. But still I will never open an umbrella indoors. I know! Crazy right?
I won’t walk pass under scaffoldings, or under ladder.. I look at black cats with suspicions…

Sometimes I even invent a superstition of my own. A classic nyanya’s superstition is perfume. A perfume can give me luck or the opposite. For example, if I wore a perfume and something bad happened, I swear that I will lay my hands off that perfume. Eventhough it is a very expensive perfume and I just wore it once. But if I wore a perfume and it brings me good days, not so much good luck, I will wear it over and over again, and buy it again until they didn’t produce it anymore.
I like to try on another perfume, but I always have this dilemma when I took this new bottle of perfume and thinking do I want to risk my good day today? I know! Crazy!
Problem is, my so-called good perfume has finished.. So I must put on new perfume tomorrow. We’ll see what will happen. Wish me luck!

Nowadays, with time flies so fast, so many things to handle, crisis here and there.. we tend to forget to acknowledge. It’s very easy to ask for something, but not to acknowledge when you get what you want. Acknowledgement can be done easily by a simple “Thank you”. Even the acknowledge word itself can be used. For example, I acknowledge your help in fixing my computer.

People tend to shy away when they acknowledge someone. I’m sure that if you do something good to someone, deep down, that person appreciate your kindness. But knowing this is not enough. We must acknowledge the helping hands to know that they are appreciated. In other word, we must voice out our appreciation of someone. Don’t assume that the person knows you thank him/her. Voice out. Say Thank you often. Even for no reason. Just say thank you.

Thinking back, I did not grow up in an acknowledgement environment. We just “know” that our parents are happy. We assume that they are proud of us. We assume that they know how much we love them and appreciate what they have done. Voicing out is not a thing in our house.

Being in France, I found that people acknowledge other people very often. The word “Merci” overflows everywhere. In the house, in the shops, at dinner table, at work, at school.

I blame it on the language. In Malaysia, it’s hard to say “Terima Kasih”. It’s not like “Merci”, or “Thanks” or “Ta” or “Danke” or “Grazie”. So you see… one word is the key. Is this true? or am I just looking for a reason.
But what about Japanese.. they have “Arigato Gozaimasu”. And any other languages?

Anyway, in whatever languages they are. We should never forget to acknowledge people surrounding us. Make them know that you appreciate them. Once you appreciate people, people will appreciate you back.

Sunday night now and I’m bracing myself for the next 5 days at work. That brings me to the title of this entry. I am bad at following the authority at work, but yet again I am good at following rules. Confuse? yes me too.. hahaha
I think I like to be my own ruler. Set up my own way of doing things and I want things going my way. Well, who doesn’t?
Anyway, I am OK if someone exercise his or her power fairly. I, for one, am not into exercising my power to show my authority. If I am a leader, I could see myself getting down into the dirt, roll up my sleeves and join my sub-ordinates. Could this means I’m losing my point of authority? I don’t think so. Do good to others and they will be good to you. That is my belief. My petpeeve is when someone tries to show that he/she has the authority just because the title says so, but they did not earn it.
As I said before, I am bad at following my leader. I think part of it because I am independent in what I do. A lot of time, at work I would do what I seem good for myself and the company of course, but not to my leader.
I don’t like to run to my boss when I have issue. I want to handle it myself. I don’t like to complain to my boss, but I would rather face the issue and offer solution. Some people might prefer to go through the boss, then the boss with bring it up to the big boss. Not me. I would bring the matter to the person with real authority and power. Hahaha… That is why and I notice it, that I often ‘disrespect’ my immediate boss. But no harm done. Problem is solved faster, just at the price of my immediate boss’s pride.
So far, I can count with 2 fingers, my bosses who I catagorized as effective managers. The rest.. FAIL! They want you to report to them, be the first to hear your complain, and hopes it does not leak out to the big boss.
I’m whining about this because it happened to me that instead of getting praised for my good work, I was blamed due to my boss’s ignorance in the matter. He was angry that he was not the first person to know about the good news. What the haaiirr?
Anyway, things never end with me I always have things up my sleeves. If they think everything is smooth sailing with me, then they are wrong.

Long live middle management!

Oh dear.. It’s monday and i don’t feel like starting anything or doing anything.
It seems not fair for Monday that most of us feel this way. Is it because of lazy Sunday?
In that case we shouldn’t be lazying around on Sundays? ggrrrr

Weekend is always amazing. I think the only unamazing about my weekend so far is when I stayed in Brussels and do house chores.

Last weekend was great. I went to Disneyland Paris with 2 KIKA colleagues. This morning as I took the same route as last saturday morning, I’m re-living the moment.
I barely slept due to excitement.
The train was at 7:30 and I’m up and about at 4am already. Took shower, and got sandwiches and brownies prepared the night before.
at 6:30 am i’m already at the train station hahaha

Anyway, it’s lucky that i don’t live in Paris. Otherwise I would go to disney every weekend!!! hahaha
If i have the disney passport then the expensive part is the train tix huhu

it’s after lunch now.. oh dear dear.. i really don’t feel like doing any work. I just wanna go out in the sun and play!
While at Disney, we were imagining what it is like to work at the Disneyland. I’m sure that you will not look at the place the same way. Would I have Monday blues? I think I would like to work at the shops. You are never alone anyway. There are always enough people at the shops. So what kind of trouble you could get. Yeah you got some kids stealing for sure. And I don’t think that they put barcode detector at the shops. but then who cares.. it’s not your sweets anyway haha..
I always have this thought of working at Disney each time I got back from that place. If only I am a student and living in Paris, then I would want to work there.
Heck, even to pick up garbage, doesn’t matter
hahah this is how low my motivation today! hahahaha

oh well..

Seriously I don’t know what do you find in Twitter.

As for me, it made me falls head over heels with the person am tweetting with.
I’m not going to reveal who I’m crazy about in Twittah, but he’s a celebrity LOL Even worse right? I know I know.
This person would probably never tweet me back but it reminds me of the feeling that I once had when I was a raging hormone teenager hahaha
Will i see him today? Will he smiles at me? Will he talk to me?
The questions now are, Will he tweet today? What will he tweet about today? What kind of comeback that I should give to get more tweet?
At one point I am happy and so glad that I have found my husband. I know that I will always see him, he will always talk to me, and smile at me.
For that I am forever grateful LOL

OK going back to this anonymity at Twittah.. I was just wondering what it’s like to receive hundreds of tweets a day.
For sure he will have no time to reply on each tweet.. For sure he will ‘accidently’ skip your tweet. So why keep tweeting? It’s like talking to a wall hahahaha
But then again, the feeling of getting back something although it is not personal, brings smile.
As long as he tweets and in this case, send you TWUGs.

Aaayyooo… tired using technology… NOT

Last friday (July 17th) witnessed a history in boyband music industry LOL
OK what am I talking about?

Last friday I “went” to NKOTB live webcast concert. I don’t know who gave the “kids” the idea to do this, but that person is an angel sent to earth!! As I don’t think I would see them live again, but I was wrong. NKOTB put their second last Full Service concert on webcast so that fans from all around the world could attend too. I was a bit sceptic about this.
One thing.. webcast of concert? yeah right… ever get those turning buffering thing while you’re streaming videos? Then, it would not be the same.. webcast concert vs. being there! huhuhu
The “ticket” went out on sale on July 13th. I still had my series of doubts. But I dunno how and why on Friday morning before go to work, I connected and check NKOTB website again. Then I checked the iclips website. It costs only 12.99 USD. I did some conversion although I know that it would cost less 10 euros. But I need assurance (but then who are we kidding?) It’s 9 euros something.
So I grabbed my credit card and bought the “ticket”.
I’m so excited that day that I can’t concentrate at work! My hands are itching to check Twitter and Facebook but I can’t. I don’t want to get a habit to do those things at workplace.
Anywho…
Got back from work and had to wait till 3 a.m!!! Yeah the concert starts at 8 p.m. CDT.

While waiting.. I tweet (TWUG) with the other blockheads! It’s really torturing. But fun and excited at the same time. The Kids are mad at twitter as well.. I can’t believe it!
A bit right before the concert started, tweet such as “I’m excited but nervous” from Joey Mac, and Ddub as usual with callout to soldier LOL

The webcast started since the beginning, when the audience took their places etc.
It’s really like you are actually there!!

To cut this entry short..
The show started at 4 a.m EST huhuhu Just before that Donnie sent a twug saying Go Time!!
OMG !! so cool!! My inner 14 years old awakes haha It happens last time when I was at their concert in Dublin too..
Watching and excited about NKOTB in front of the TV at 33 years old.. I tell ya.. I was back in my parents living room, watching concert on my friends’ VHS tape huhuhuhu
My past came flash right through my eyes as I watched the lights! serious stuff!!

Oh btw, I projected my laptop to my tv..
I closed msn, facebook, twitter on my laptop so that it won’t interrupt the streaming. I keep twittering on my iphone.
It’s amazing, the blockheads are twittering and commenting as we watch the concert
There is no jealousy no hatred.. we are all screaming teenage girls but yet matured LOL
We all know that each one of us are either Mrs McIntyre or Mrs Wood or Mrs Wahlberg or Mrs Knight LOL

Their performances are amazing. It’s not too much, just adequate to put all of us in tears! huhuhuhu
They are guys of in late 30s. Jon and Danny are both 40 years old. But then 40 is the new 20? hehehehe

I’m glad that they decided to do it now. It is such a good timing.
I could go on and on about this… This is just a piece of my mind that shout out “i LOVE NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK!!!!!!”

After facebook, it’s Twitter for me.
The only reason I started it because I saw facebook update on BSB and NKOTB that they are tweeting all the time. And yes, I think they are bunch of Twitter addicts! LOL I think they are not the only one.
It is amazing to think of singers sending tweets. Basically there is no communication barrier between fans and artists. I appreciate their addictions which make them look more human and not some kind of unreachable people.
So with all the limited time that they have, yet they are able to keep in touch with the fans, so I say why-not. Sometimes it is scary to realize that our favourite artists are actually normal human being. They have dull conversation, dull day, daily chores - like the rest of us.
With all these thoughts, I recently had a dream that I am at NKOTB concert and instead of performing, we saw the guys just going on normal conversation and chores. I was thinking sing, perform dammit! I don’t want to see the normal you.
That is the reason also why I just couldn’t be bother to get VIP tix and meet artists in person. I’m scared that I will see normal cute guys, and not the super cute unreachable popular person.

Anyway, I try to accept this fact by joining Twitter

Other artists blog and v-blog too… Mr. AZ is genius.. I really hope that it’s him who write his blog. And I think it is him. He is a groovy hippy.
It would be cool to chill out with him in a coffee shop in Amsterdam.

I think I’ve written a gratitude entry some time ago.
But after reading Mr. AZ’s blog where he listed out 10 gratitude items, made me wanna do my list too.
Here it goes 10 things I’m grateful for today:

1) Having to see the day starts and ends, living and breathing
2) My families who are at the moment scattered all over the world and doing god knows what, but still we managed to catch up with each other
3) Having my supportive husband who still can survive living with and without me (*^^*)
4) Gaining income doing what I like and what I do best
5) Having friends whenever I need them
6) All the technologies that I use today to keep me company, in touch, amuse and that life is not so much a boredom. MSN, Skype, Facebook, iPhone, Twitter, PC, Youtube and many more!
7) My new nephew (and his bro and sis) photos!!!
8 ) Shops for my retail therapy
9) Food glorious food
10) Musics and songs that serve various purposes - to start the day, to remind me of good times, to give hope.
