Classical
I have been always a fan of classical world. Be it musics, operas, movies or books.. classical times never beat the hi-tech world we live in today. There is no internet, no emails, no iphone during renaissance days, but yet people at that time managed to created something complicated, fun, entertaining…
Jane Austen’s stories are about complicated relationships, and ways of soceity behaving. Mozarts, Beethoven.. they managed to create beautiful musics.. masterpieces.. Operas still cannot beat those hi-tech movies we have today. Some things are unreplaceable… Bravo bravo!! Hmm.. why didn’t I take Arts and Theatre while at school??
I wish I could play classical instruments, I wish I could sing classical songs, I wish I could play in an opera…. *sigh* Although those are just wishful thinking, but I still appreciate the songs, the plays, the literature.
My childhood bestfriend plays piano. She comes from a family where all of her sisters play piano. I remember that whenever I came to her house, I am looking forward to sit and listen to her or one of her sisters practice piano lessions.
I think if I were to go back to the old times, I like to be in the.. let say.. between 1700 to 1800. Howzat??? kekeke Although personal hygene is in question at that time - no shower or running water, only bath; being around horses all the time…hehehehe… horses poo poo on the street.. but I imagined the men (and women) are more charming than those of nowadays *sigh*
One great thing of living in a european town, is that everything is surrounding with classic arts. Nancy is the town of des beaux-arts…. On the way to work, I go through the creation of Ecole de Nancy, beautiful architectures… Lucky that walking to work is not that bad. The view from my appartment is not that bad either.
We will be going to Vienna at the end of April. Can’t wait!! Gonna discover one more European city which is full of baroque arts. Yippie!!
In the meantime… a view of Nancy is enough..
