Continuous Improvement

I had a dilemma at work today.
One of my colleagues came to me with a suggestion to improve somethings. Although I am a pro-improvement and changes, but this I had to refuse and reject his idea.
I know that my comments and refusals could lower my colleague’s morale. But I am only a human, and at this moment I can’t deal with improvement. Moreover, I talked to everyone in the office and no one seems to support the idea. We had objective meeting today and it was clear that my objective is to maintain the process. On one hand I understand that the process we had is solid, on the other hand, I like to work in environment where everyone is creative and full of new ideas.
Anyway, I have to go with maintaining than improvement. Not all improvement is good, isn’t it?

Hey all!
Howza going? wow what a hectic week I had. Although I didn’t get much thing done, but circumstances made me achieve something better. Nothing much done on the day-to-day workload, but I managed to push myself to do something at work that I never done before. I like that. I like to work on something new. I guess my attention span on work is diminishing and I became like a kid. I need to be “entertained” with something new and challenging and not just play with the same ol thing.
Take food for example… I like to eat different food everyday. I don’t like to set on routine on what I eat and where I eat. Best highlight about food to me is to try new place to eat, new food to eat.
Same goes with work too.. I like to do new things at work, and doesn’t like to fall in the routine. I guess that is the problem I have now. My work currently falls into routine type. In addition, if it is a good routine time, that’s OK. But everytime people arround me made the same routine mistake. That’s kinda annoying.
I guess that is also the reason why I pick up japanese class. I want to do something different. And I am happy with it coz yesterday we had our first french-japanese meet up evening. It’s kinda refreshing. I think it is a good thing because it managed to break the ice amongst students in the class.
End of november I will pick up the MBA course.
People asked me why I picked up japanese or why I am doing MBA. They are thinking that maybe it’s kind of a requirement to do something (like getting a new job or moving to a new place). My answer is simple…. I want something different!

I got nothing special planned for this weekend. I’m afraid if I go downstairs (read:town), I might ended up shopping! hihihihi I might checkout a japanese store suggested by one of my japanese classmates.
I’m not a fan of manga ‘book’ (well maybe not yet). But I recalled my younger brother bought the doremon books/comics when he was a kid.
I discovered that at least my classmates who are sitting near me last night, are avid fans of all japanese. They can recite the name of their all time favorite manga, they have their cds of japanese musics, they have ONLY japanese songs in their ipod. It’s crazy!
We made a round turn of what is your all time favorite manga, and when it came to my turn.. I just said, I dunno.. that’s what I’m here for. I want to know what so great about manga and what is good. hehehe… They gave me quite a list of manga titles. My classmates appreciate that I asked them and they are so open on giving me advice on all thing japanese. And they are 100% french!!! We talked to some japanese (they are mostly students). I noticed that they are too a bit lost when the french talked about the manga titles. Well one thing, french speaks fast for them to follow, the other thing, french do not realize that the title in french or english is different from japanese.
Same goes like the A team series, in french it is call Agence Tous Risque (hahahah, and the generic song has lyric mind you!)
Anyway, it’s refreshing to me and something great to end my hectic week day!
later yall!

That’s Hello / Bonjour in japanese…
I started my first japanese class this evening. It will be every Friday evening, until June next year.
I didn’t expect anything from this class. I said to myself to go with the flow.
I’ve attended evening class at a community college when I was in Sydney (Cantonese class mind you). So I know that it’s going to have people from different background, purpose and it will be in a room where the desks and chairs are moveable according to the class needs.

Our teacher is a young lady from Osaka (hehe reminds me of Lucky Star).

She’s been here for 2 years, so her french is still not that good. But she has the necessary vocabulary to teach.
When I arrived (like 10 minutes in advance), the classroom was already full (about 15 people).
Then 30 minutes later, the room is cramped with 30 students!
Wow!! i didn’t expect there are a lot of people who interest in japanese. But well, it is one of the most interesting and popular languages.

Anyhooo…
After introduction by everyone, we start getting into the real business…
After one hour, we all start writing japanese!!!
Actually in the course we will learn Hiragana and Katakana. Kanji is too much high level.

Of course silly ol me didn’t bring new writing book, and I ended up using my work note book, which doesn’t have much empty pages left.

Look at what I achieved today!

So tired..

.. I know that this week Malaysians in Malaysia (or might be somewhere else) are all tired due to Hari Raya week. A big chance that they are tired because of the eating, the visiting, eating some more, receiving visitors, visiting and eating again…

As for myself.. I’m so tired of the tiring week. I have so many things to do and I had barely time to sit and do nothing.
I have my MBA applications to complete, I had the raya makan2, and most of all.. werk werk werk!
I don’t even have time to take a time to call my parents to wish them Selamat Hari Raya. I know I should’ve put them on priority. But they are! Oh well.. who am I kidding..
I think I will call them this weekend at home.
I just can’t find time to call during the worktime. Thanks to SMS and internet, I keep contact with them. Moreover, I am not a phone person (and I wonder how I survived working as a user support manager!) Thing is, I can call someone when there is a need. I just can chataway on the phone. Don’t get me wrong, I can be a chatterbox in real (and in the internet) but not on the phone.

This afternoon I had the whole afternoon train the new testers. Three hours and a half of non-stop talking. I’m sure the students (testers) cannot absorb all info. If I were them, I would dozed of after 1 hour. I should make my training more live-able.
On top of that, the lights in the meeting room do not work. So as the day grew darker we are like sitting in the dark with only lights from the projector. Haiyaa sekse!!

Anyway, better stop ranting here. I have my CV to update for the MBA application.
Cheers!
