NKOTB Webcast

Filed under: On the web — nyanya @ 12:30

Aaayyooo… tired using technology… NOT

Last friday (July 17th) witnessed a history in boyband music industry LOL
OK what am I talking about?

Last friday I “went” to NKOTB live webcast concert. I don’t know who gave the “kids” the idea to do this, but that person is an angel sent to earth!! As I don’t think I would see them live again, but I was wrong. NKOTB put their second last Full Service concert on webcast so that fans from all around the world could attend too. I was a bit sceptic about this.
One thing.. webcast of concert? yeah right… ever get those turning buffering thing while you’re streaming videos? Then, it would not be the same.. webcast concert vs. being there! huhuhu
The “ticket” went out on sale on July 13th. I still had my series of doubts. But I dunno how and why on Friday morning before go to work, I connected and check NKOTB website again. Then I checked the iclips website. It costs only 12.99 USD. I did some conversion although I know that it would cost less 10 euros. But I need assurance (but then who are we kidding?) It’s 9 euros something.
So I grabbed my credit card and bought the “ticket”.
I’m so excited that day that I can’t concentrate at work! My hands are itching to check Twitter and Facebook but I can’t. I don’t want to get a habit to do those things at workplace.
Anywho…
Got back from work and had to wait till 3 a.m!!! Yeah the concert starts at 8 p.m. CDT.

img_0537small.jpg

While waiting.. I tweet (TWUG) with the other blockheads! It’s really torturing. But fun and excited at the same time. The Kids are mad at twitter as well.. I can’t believe it!
A bit right before the concert started, tweet such as “I’m excited but nervous” from Joey Mac, and Ddub as usual with callout to soldier LOL

The webcast started since the beginning, when the audience took their places etc.
It’s really like you are actually there!!

To cut this entry short..
The show started at 4 a.m EST huhuhu Just before that Donnie sent a twug saying Go Time!!
OMG !! so cool!! My inner 14 years old awakes haha It happens last time when I was at their concert in Dublin too..
Watching and excited about NKOTB in front of the TV at 33 years old.. I tell ya.. I was back in my parents living room, watching concert on my friends’ VHS tape huhuhuhu
My past came flash right through my eyes as I watched the lights! serious stuff!!

Oh btw, I projected my laptop to my tv..
I closed msn, facebook, twitter on my laptop so that it won’t interrupt the streaming. I keep twittering on my iphone.
It’s amazing, the blockheads are twittering and commenting as we watch the concert :D
There is no jealousy no hatred.. we are all screaming teenage girls but yet matured LOL
We all know that each one of us are either Mrs McIntyre or Mrs Wood or Mrs Wahlberg or Mrs Knight LOL

Their performances are amazing. It’s not too much, just adequate to put all of us in tears! huhuhuhu
They are guys of in late 30s. Jon and Danny are both 40 years old. But then 40 is the new 20? hehehehe

I’m glad that they decided to do it now. It is such a good timing.
I could go on and on about this… This is just a piece of my mind that shout out “i LOVE NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK!!!!!!”

Tweet me you Twitt

Filed under: On the web — nyanya @ 22:38

After facebook, it’s Twitter for me.
The only reason I started it because I saw facebook update on BSB and NKOTB that they are tweeting all the time. And yes, I think they are bunch of Twitter addicts! LOL I think they are not the only one.
It is amazing to think of singers sending tweets. Basically there is no communication barrier between fans and artists. I appreciate their addictions which make them look more human and not some kind of unreachable people.
So with all the limited time that they have, yet they are able to keep in touch with the fans, so I say why-not. Sometimes it is scary to realize that our favourite artists are actually normal human being. They have dull conversation, dull day, daily chores - like the rest of us.
With all these thoughts, I recently had a dream that I am at NKOTB concert and instead of performing, we saw the guys just going on normal conversation and chores. I was thinking sing, perform dammit! I don’t want to see the normal you.
That is the reason also why I just couldn’t be bother to get VIP tix and meet artists in person. I’m scared that I will see normal cute guys, and not the super cute unreachable popular person.

Anyway, I try to accept this fact by joining Twitter :D

Other artists blog and v-blog too… Mr. AZ is genius.. I really hope that it’s him who write his blog. And I think it is him. He is a groovy hippy.
It would be cool to chill out with him in a coffee shop in Amsterdam.

Goodbye Michael, Farah

Filed under: On the web — nyanya @ 23:33

This week witness the lost of 2 important celebrities. They are icons in their own ways.
Farah Fawcett, known as one of the angels in Charlie’s angels. I remember her when I was young seeing her face in the magazines and most importantly in hairsalons. I think she made layered hair famous.

As for Michael Jackson, king of pop… in a special way, he managed to capture everyone’s heart.
I remember dancing to Beat It and Thriller with my brother and sister. It’s so funny to think of it. I think I was only 10 years old or so, and I like his songs. However, I don’t think that I am his big fan. But then, I danced to Beat it and Thriller when I was a kid, I loved You are Not Alone, I participated in a school choir singing We are the World and I just danced to Billie Jean last week in Vienna!
Above all, I am happy that my heart decided to go downtown to the Sydney Opera House where Michael Jackson made an appearance. It was amazing!

So R.I.P Michael and Farah

Hey all,

Here is the link to the NKOTB pics and vids!
I am still thinking of going to their concert in Paris. It will be on Wednesday! Dammit. I dunno if I have the courage to take the trains and sleep over in Paris. Seems like lotsa work. This is the time where you think that you need a car. Dammit!

Here is the link. I am thinking to make slideshows of it. But which song to use as the back ground? My fav so far is Single and Tonight. I heard one song that they sang, and kinda catchy. Gonna look up for it.

Josh has a blog!

Filed under: On the web — nyanya @ 21:45

Hey all!

For grobanites out there, checkout Josh’s blog.
http://joshgrobanblog.tumblr.com/

I think it is a great way for him (or any artists) to have a personal blog.
Even better vidblog. Of course you have artists’ websites but that does not feel “authentic”.
This one is!
Keep up the good work Josh. Looking forward to get some sneak previews on your latest works!

Laters!

Tokio Hotel

Filed under: On the web — nyanya @ 21:47

Not to go into details.. hehe Tokio Hotel is a teenage band from Germany which took the music world by storm (or monsoon actually). Everywhere in Europe their fans singing their songs in German. Bravo guys for making german language sounds good and that you can actually sing in this language.. har har har…

For those who dunno who or what is Tokio Hotel, here is one of their famous songs which is adapated to english (after they entered the US scene). Wierd how this band can make it with singing Durch den Monsun, but they had to translate it to english, just to please Americans? Poor them.

This is their song in german. Bill is still young and got this german haircut har har har

They entered US scene, and this is the result… song in english and Bill got the “landak” hair keh keh keh

Snow in spring

Filed under: On the web — nyanya @ 23:17

There have been some days since the start of spring time, that we had snow. It’s really like January… but hey we are already in April!! Amazing isn’t it. It’s something wierd, but then not that weird. If it is some kind of movie, this is just at the start of that movie.. hehehe
I didn’t have time to capture this moment. It always happened in the morning when I’m going to work, so that means limited time to grab the cam and snap some shots. Maybe next time when we’re having snow. But really I am looking forward for much warmer weather… huhuhu

Haircut

Filed under: On the web — nyanya @ 1:07

Yes! I just got a haircut today..
I never think twice when deciding to get a haircut. Usually, I would wake up one day and decide, that I need a new haircut. I always go to the same hair salon. I am lucky enough to find a nice hair salon in town. I must admit, I’ve tried around 5 different hair salons before I’ve settled with the current one. Although not always the same hairdresser, but they are all good at this hair salon. Of course there is a bit different from one another, but usually I am happy with the service.
Anyway, I had a shorter hair-do now. Damm TomKat! hahaha This time I go for bob style, chin length. I’ll have the photo up soon hehehe.. Like I will tell you all without a photo! Photo is a must!
That’s all for now.. laters!
